I think this book would serve as a great teaching tool

I have read the book and I am not and never have I been a student of the author. Having said that, I picked it up because the notion of an academic book providing review and analysis of scandal, without sensationalizing the incidents or spinning them along party lines seems necessary, original, and long overdue quite honestly. This book is a well crafted tour of the story behind the headline and contextualizes the implications and fallout after our 24 news cycle has decided to move onto a Kardashian-type pop culture drama. For me, it's a study in human frailty on so many levels. We expect politicians to be a level above ... Sometimes, the power, greed, and ambitions that drive them to be politicians also drive them to self-destruct in the public eye, simply because they can't resist temptation or they don't think they'll get caught. I think this book would serve as a great teaching tool, or reference book for anyone interested in culture, sociology, and obviously politics.

This is the worst book I have ever read. I was forced to read it for a class. I learned absolutely nothing. It is simply a summary of a couple of political scandals.

The OT Bible for Physical Dysfunction

I'm in OT school right now and this is our bible for interventions concerning physical dysfunction. I know in a beautiful world without production quotas we would all look up meta-analysis studies before working with each patient, but this give you a quick run down of the most important things to do, look for, and not do. I will be buying the revised edition whenever it comes out.

this is actually a really good textbook. We use many books in our program that are really dry and do not provide case study examples. This text makes it easier to understand the topics because of the "extra" information throughout the chapters: references, case studies, etc.

I bought this to have as an all-in-one resource for OT practical skills before going out on req 16 wk fieldwork. I have found it helpful and am using it to study for the boards.

Finally a book that addresses Asian-American isssues.

"Unraveling" is a book that is easy to understand and read for both students and the general public who have been interested or have been party to what is going on with Asian-American issues in today's society. This book brings these issues to light from a series of actual interviews held in high schools. Stacey Lee hits the target and I hope she continues her writing. I look forward to more from this new writer who obviously has talent.

Very enlightening book

I am currently a graduate student and one of my professor assigned (and provided a copy of) a chapter (chpt 2) from this book as one of our readings. I so throuroughly enjoyed this chapter that I purchased the book (used) from Amazon.com.. Lee brings to light the stereotypes that Asians encounter not only from non-asians, but from other Asians as well. As an Asian-American, I was unaware of such stereotypes, but after reading this book, I realized I've been surrounded by them my entire life but had been oblivious to them. I also appreciate reading about Asian students and the communities in which they learn and live. So much of my coursework throughout my undergraduate and graduate education has focused on the Latino and African-American community and very little focus (almost none) has been placed on the Asian community. This book was educational and the information valuable.

When the Reverend Henry Clarke died in 1907 his obituary described him as an Englishman. Yet he had lived in England for only the first 19 years of his life; he spent the next 60 years in Jamaica, teaching and preaching in the remote western part of the island, and living mainly in Savanna-la-Mar. Henry Clarke was no obscure country cleric; he was a politician, a businessman, an enthusiastic though unsuccessful inventor, an uxorious husband and the father of eleven children, and he left behind an extraordinary body of writing, including the six-volume diary on which this biography is based. His life spans the years between the ending of slavery and the twentieth-century history of Jamaica. An outsider by colour, nationality and profession, he grew to love his adopted country and strove to improve the lot of the Jamaican people. Yet the diaries, for all their detail, give only passing reference to the world at large. They are much more concerned with the personal details of the activities, passions and problems of Henry Clarke himself.

One of the best daily devotionals available.

I purchased my first copy of "Daily Light" from a dear widow lady who was selling her late husband's books. Now I read it every day and have also purchases many copies for family and friends. It isn't a substitute for reading the Bible but the verses that are put together for each day are uplifting and so very helpful. This little book, along with "Streams In The Desert", is a great way to begin each day with "a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path".
